Chocolate Hummus

Looking for a delicious, healthy, and creative way to get that chocolate fix? This chocolate hummus could be the answer you’re looking for.

By using a2 Milk™, cocoa powder and dark chocolate you can make sure it’s completely A1 protein free. All you have to do is whiz all the ingredients up in the blender and serve your chocolate hummus with a selection of healthy nibbles – our favourite is strawberries.

A little tip to make peeling the chickpeas super easy is to just pinch them at the pointed end and they’ll pop out of their skin.

Serving: 8


  • 120ml a2 Milk™ Fresh or Long Life
  • 400g tin cooked chickpeas rinsed and drained, with the skins off if preferred
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or more to your taste
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • Salt
  • 40g dark chocolate chopped into small bits – dairy free


  • Add all the ingredients from chickpeas to the salt into a food processor and whiz for 1 minute.
  • Then add in the chocolate pieces and whiz into the consistency you desire.
  • If you want your hummus less thick then add in a couple of tbsp of milk.
