Once you’ve tried these chocolate chip pancakes you’ll never look back! Flip them, stack them, enjoy them – pancakes are both fun and delicious. The little chocolate chips melt during cooking to create little chocolatey bursts of flavour when you cut into the pancake. The chocolate sauce drizzled on top is totally optional as the chips in the batter deliver enough of a chocolate hit for most people. They’re made with dark chocolate and a2 Milk™ so they’re naturally free from the A1 protein.
Just watch our quick and easy recipe video tutorial to find out how to make them!
For the chocolate sauce:
Step 1: In a bowl, mix together egg, a2 Milk™ and melted butter until combined.
Step 2: In a large bowl mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and a pinch of salt together until well combined.
Step 3: Incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry ones, and mix well until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and gently mix. Make sure to not over-mix the batter otherwise your pancake will turn flat and heavy and not fluffy as they’re supposed to.
Step 4: Heat a large no-stick skillet over medium heat and grease with a little butter. With the help of an ice cream scooper or small ladle spoon the batter onto the skillet. Gently spread the batter into a small circle and cook until the edges start bubbling. Flip on the other side and continue to cook until golden and cooked through. Repeat until all batter has been used.
Step 5: In the meantime, prepare the chocolate sauce. Arrange chopped chocolate in a large bowl. Heat a2 Milk™ until hot, then gently pour over the chocolate, mixing with a spatula until creamy and smooth.
Step 6: Once all your pancakes are ready, top them up with the chocolate sauce and serve immediately!
